As you might have read, the title was actually derived from a Quora question, so any other title would not have suited. Medium headlines often do have an attention grabbing element, it’s just a part of promotion and common in the self-help domain.

‘Thinking-lite” might come from the fact I had to fit a limited amount of information in a list of 20 items. I also have a bit of a disclaimer mentioning that this is based on my own experience and exploring some bitterness that came up for me. These items are at best general principles but mostly things to consider.

I also originally self-published this when it was rejected from The Ascent but The Startup asked to publish it, so I did not intend to “make lots of money”. I am grateful to The Startup giving me this opportunity though and respect The Ascent’s decision that it wasn’t what they were looking for right now.

My advice about the 20’s is basically don’t waste the whole decade on frivolities. I also say it’s important to do some of it, but all excitement without the stabilising factor of discipline is unsustainable and is likely to be avoidance of real life rather than working with it. This comes from my own experience of wasting a lot of time when I could have worked more on self-actualisation.
