I have not re-read the article but I actually agree with you. In the case of images being stolen off a computer, that's equivalent to theft. Any networked device should be assumed insecure as well though and valuable documents and media should be protected.

I think I was quite focused on the rationale behind the negation of responsibility of dispersing and storing sensitive material and not regarding it as sensitive until there's a consequence.
