It’s the reason the insult “incel” is so popular. A man that cannot have sex is a man that is told he is not valuable, and he is shamed. On a biological level this sends the message that his very genes are not worthy of reproduction.
Mix this with alcohol and a “sex is casual” culture and you get major boundary and self-esteem issues on both sides.
