I suppose this calls for a distinction between considered feelings and unconsidered feelings. Lust and aggression are both very powerful emotional influencers, but can create major problems when not properly considered. A feeling that something doesn’t sit right with you (a signal that can come from your values) however is something deeper that ought to be followed. I do agree every emotion can be revealing, but what the emotion impels is unreliable unless the source is understood — or you realize it is at odds with your values and choose not to follow it. I do believe the charioteer must guide the horses, but I also know that emotions can signal you towards values that might not yet be conscious.
